How do you know when to step back and when to move forward?
This past week I’ve had my fair share of obstacles; both in my personal life and work life, as sometimes happens to every one. How do you handle those situations? I find it so difficult to know if I need to be alone or with people. So the headline here doesn’t refer to company in the form of other “miserable” people (as the saying normally does), just people in general. This week I had no choice of how to handle it as I had already planned a weekend in Stockholm with my friends, so I couldn’t deal with what had happened or what did happen in any other way than forget about it and have fun.
It was very interesting to treat the problems that way as I usually turn to being alone. Was I happy with how it turned out? Surprisingly (for me), yes! Did I crash when I came home? Also, yes! But it was fine! I was still fuelled with happiness from the weekend so I managed to do some important things yesterday but I also allowed myself an evening of just watching Netflix. You could say I got the best of both worlds!
How to deal with things depends on what you prefer, really, but I can say now that I may not always turn to my own company when feeling down.
