Is it Stockholm’s best kept burger secret?
Well, I don’t know if it is much of a secret really as it’s located in central Stockholm on Tegnérgatan 16 (tube station Rådmansgatan), but according to Burger Dudes it might be! And I’ll admit that I, a burger lover, had never heard of it until some friends and I stumbled upon it after school one day when we were just super hungry.
In 2014 Sharam Alawi started serving his hamburgers from a 12 square meter street-grill in central Stockholm. Despite any advertising or marketing, the rumor about Franky’s famous burgers spread quickly.
That’s what it says on their website. I totally understand why the word spread! This burger might well be the best one in Stockholm. Obviously I haven’t tried them all so that might be an over-exaggeration haha, but I really like this one.
Here I’ve had my usual: Franky’s Original. Dressing, salad, tomato, pickled red onion and cheese. I always have my burgers without tomatoes as I just don’t like them up in there, haha. The meat could be a little bit juicier, or at least it could have been this time (it does vary a little) but the bun is what really makes it. It’s some kind of brioche situation and it’s SO soft and flavourful; it really brings the burger together. It’s slightly toasted on the inside as well… YUM!
A single burger (160g) is 98SEK which I think is a pretty decent price considering quality and location. Fries are 25SEK and for lunch they’re definitely enough to share. Highly recommend if you’re ever in our capital!
